We have applied Mac App Store-inspired limits to our Omni Store licenses to better accommodate single users who have more than one computer. Frequently Asked Questions about Omni’s terms of use: The Mac App Store allows me to install a single license on up to five Macs for my own use. Even if no more than ten people will ever use the software simultaneously, twenty licenses would be required, as there would be twenty users accessing the licensed software on twenty or more computers. For instance, a business with twenty people needing to use the software across thirty computers would need to purchase twenty licenses. It’s important to understand that our licenses are not floating licenses. Or, one lab computer shared by multiple different users needs only a single license of the software to cover all the separate users accessing the licensed app on that one Mac. For example, one person with both a laptop and a desktop computer (or, a home computer and an office computer) can legally install and use a single-seat license on both Macs. Omni apps are licensed for either a given number of computers or people, whichever number is smaller. Omni Store licenses fall under the terms and conditions of Omni’s End User License Agreement. While there is some crossover with the App Store’s licensing terms and our own, the intent of this article is to provide general information about Omni software license keys purchased outside of the Mac App Store. Outside of the Mac App Store, which includes our online store as well as software resellers.A license key is not issued for Mac App Store purchases, as the apps are registered using the iTunes Apple ID used to purchase the app. Mac App Store apps fall under Apple’s Terms & Conditions, and are licensed directly through the individual user’s Mac App Store account.
